Long-term goal of the project: improving the health of preschool or school-age children in Kedainiai and Anyksciai districts. It is expected that thanks to the project, the health indicators of children and youth attending educational institutions will improve, the number of illnesses will decrease, and children will acquire knowledge and skills of a healthy lifestyle and healthy nutrition.

Active working with children, presenting health care, preventive and other information for children in an appropriate, understandable and interesting way will reduce the chance of getting those diseases (for example, infectious diseases), which, with certain knowledge, can be easily avoided and the number of cases of these diseases can be reduced. The work of health care specialists with children and youth will reduce the use of cigarettes, narcotic substances and alcohol, and will be a timely prevention of the increase in crime. The administration (managers) of the applicant and the partner will be responsible for the infrastructure created during the project, the repair, maintenance and storage of premises, purchased equipment and tools. Purchased furniture, equipment and other tools will be insured against all possible risks (from the funds of the applicant and the partner). Further repair of cabinets’ premises, repair of equipment, technical maintenance will be financed from the funds of public health offices. The financial continuity of the project will be ensured thanks to municipalities’ budgets, the budget of the compulsory health insurance fund and the allocations of the state budget. The services of health cabinets in educational institutions will be provided continuously even after the end of the project. The service providers undertake to maintain the required number of employees, to ensure qualification improvement and further provision of services to preschool and school-aged children. The continuity of the project will be ensured by the operation of educational institutions – as long as children attend preschool and school education institutions, health care services will be relevant and necessary in them.

It is expected that during the project, at least 80 percent of the specialists of the applicant and partners, who will use the tools purchased during the project, will strengthen their abilities to recognize and treat cases of children or youth experiencing bullying and/or psychosocial problems. Survey reports on enhanced capabilities will be provided to support the achievement of the indicator. After the completion of the project, it is planned to inform the public about the achieved results, publish photos and videos of real beneficiaries.
